Amel Association International (Amel) was established in 1979 and since then we have been supporting the most under-privileged populations throughout all of Lebanon, from Beirut and its South Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and South Lebanon. Think of us like a big family trying to make society better bit by bit. We want everyone to be treated fairly, have their rights respected, and live in a world where everyone is equal.

26 Letters is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Beirut, Lebanon, that operates under democratic principles. Our primary focus is on providing education to children and teenagers, with no specific target group in mind. We firmly believe that education is a multifaceted concept influenced by various factors.
To address the diverse needs of our students and their families, we go beyond just education. We also engage in humanitarian efforts by offering financial assistance, including support for medical operations, school tuition, and access to essential medicines. Our aim is to ensure the well-being of our students and their families.
Our educational approach includes a unique, self-made curriculum that covers subjects such as English, mathematics, and Arabic. This curriculum is designed to cater to the educational needs of any child in need, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Volunteers play a crucial role in our organization, working alongside us to make a positive impact on the lives of these children. Notably, 26 Letters is managed by the very teenagers and children it serves, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-determination among the youth we aim to support.

In an attempt to empower citizens' engagement in public issues, we created a decentralized, cooperative and democratic platform where citizens gather into blocs that work in a bottom-up, independent manner with an access to all other blocs for cooperation.
Our projects are initiatives brought to us by citizens wanting to implement solutions on the ground to daily problems we face at the community level. Projects vary from field work to policy research, and volunteers propose and manage their projects autonomously.
We act as a civic accelerator by providing support to projects and enabling cooperation between citizens at the community level.

HOW WE STARTED
Aie Serve is youth-lead NGO that started in 2007 to spread the values of Respect, Acceptance, and Love.
The word “Aie” is a Japanese word pronounced as “I” and means “Love”, so the name of NGO is Love to Serve or I Serve others.
The idea came due to the aftermath of July War on Lebanon and the sharp polarization of the Lebanese youth. A group of friends started brainstorming ways of tackling this issue and agreed that the 3 basic values that are missing in Lebanon are Respect, Acceptance and Love. Loving others for who they are, and not which political background or sect they are from, respecting others’ point of views and beliefs no matter what, and accepting differences and considering them the seeds of diversity.
Afterwards, the group started gathering more ideas and people and tried to organize themselves little at a time while focusing on serving their surrounding and society at large.
Aie Serve evolved from a group of friends, to a group of community service minded people, to a team and an organization.
VISION, MISSION, AND GOALS
VISION
Aie Serve promotes the values of respect, acceptance and love to achieve an improved future for human kind.
MISSION
Aie Serve is a youth non-governmental organization that works on youth empowerment.
GOALS

Since its creation AJEM is standing for the rights of representation of prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families, throughout Lebanon. We are mainly concerned with the respect of human rights, the fight against torture in prisons and the work for the abolition of capital punishment.
Nevertheless, we found ourselves rapidly under the obligation to expand the scope of our interventions in the light of the prisoners’ needs and the short comings of the Lebanese system when it comes to defending the rights of vulnerable people. That’s why the Ajem Rabieh Shelter (ARS) was founded in 2012.
ARS is a transitional housing program that can serve up to 30 men for now.
The purpose of our program is to provide individuals with comprehensive supportive services which will enable them to return to independent living, to obtain employment and permanent housing.
We are currently providing a safe and stable place to ex-prisoners, homeless men and to refugees through their transition back into society in order to ensure a smooth social reinsertion. This is based on providing them with a supportive and stable environment to help them regain confidence to reconnect, with family, society and its prejudices and find a job to sustain themselves independently.

Although newborn, Akkarouna association was established as a result of total absence of guidance on both humanitarian and environmental levels, and due to the marginalization of women in Akkar. The association has evolved from seven to twenty-five members and more than hundred volunteers, who are all interested in development issues in the province of Akkar, in coordination with all the bodies and institutions in the area. Some of our successful projects include: planting 20,000 trees offered by the Ministry of Agriculture, training 20 young members of the community on citizenship, advocacy and engagement, establishing the first IT center in “Al Jawhara School” in Bazbina village, as well as a Dentistry and General Clinic in Al Borj Akkar with the support of Al Walid Bin Talal Institution, renovation of streets and a public garden in Sha’adouf Akkar and the lightening of a basketball play ground in Akkar El Atika in partnership with the concerned municipalities and the USAID. With the FAO organization we are establishing a professional kitchen to improve the quality of the traditional Akkarian food (mooned). This kitchen will benefit all the villages of Al Joumeh Area. We work on raising the moral, behavioral and environmental awareness; shedding light on an area rich in both natural and human resources. We also seek to involve youth in various types of activities to keep them away from delinquency and the tendency of violence. You may check our website for further interesting information and numbers about our projects and donors.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is a grassroots organization started in 2012 when a group of volunteers in Lebanon, driven by the plight of Syrian refugees, began a small relief operation. Within a year the volunteers had set up their organization as a Lebanese NGO and received their first grant to start three different programs in their community center in Shatila a preexisting Palestinian refugee camp that was hosting Syrian refugees. From these beginnings, B&Z grew at a compound annual growth rate in excess of 50% and became one of the premier local Syrian relief and development organizations. In 2015 a branch was setup in Turkey and in 2017 and 2018 the organization registered fund-raising subsidiaries in the US and UK. In 2019 work was launched in Erbil, Iraq.

Being Lebanese is being able to always see the glass half full, survive, thrive and bloom despite everything. Witnessing the collapse of our country, combined with our love to biophilia, cultural and artistic material, we feel the urge to encourage and save our Heritage by providing work to Lebanese artisans. Craftsmanship is an intrinsic component of the Lebanese Cultural Heritage and it has the potential to play a substantial role in the development of the country’s economy. In the absence of legal guidelines recognizing the importance of craftsmanship, this sector suffering from several headwinds, is at the brink of extinction, therefore our Mission here is to create endless opportunities for talented handcrafters and artisans by opening several workshops for artisans all over Lebanon and teach artisanship for future generations in order to preserve the Lebanese Cultural Heritage.

It all started in February 2019 when we, as Beit El Baraka, decided to open an elegant free supermarket based on the system of points where members can choose their products by maintaining their freedom of choice and dignity. To respond to Lebanon’s economic and multi-dimensional crises, we started including holistic support and provision of basic needs to the two fragile strata of our population: children and elderly.
In an effort to create a sustainable model based on our donations and resources, we created “Kanz”, Beit Al Baraka’s social enterprise. Aiming to revitalize Lebanon’s enriching terroir, Kanz is an exclusive organic line of products that explores the culinary art of Mouneh. Kanz products are currently exported to directly uplift the livelihoods of local producers and Lebanese farmers as well as showcased in “Beit Kanz”, a Lebanese cultural hub featuring a Lebanese terroir shop, an artisanal boutique and a café restaurant.
Our journey would not be effective without YOU, dynamic and skillful volunteers!
We support 10% of Lebanese population and we value your partnership for social change and we would love to have you onboard as your contribution definitely impacts the lives of the many people in need and will surely help us achieve our vision for a better Lebanon: a nation that thrives on its treasure of human, cultural and culinary resources.

Blue Mission is a non-political/non-sectarian NGO based in Saida, Lebanon, seeking to promote a culture of peace on every level of society in order for Lebanon to confront and resolve its humanitarian challenges. We work with vulnerable Lebanese, Refugees and Internally displaced groups in Lebanon, targeting aspects of Medical Aid, Mental Health, Education, Capacity Building and Peace Building.
The biggest program in place at this date is the KARAMA project, targeting refugee and host populations living in informal settlements in the South and Mount Lebanon to assess the mental and physical health needs of their residents, with an emphasis on women and their children. This program reaches around 1000 beneficiaries a month, with the help of a Mobile Medical Unit.
This program is now complemented by the Early Years Education Program. The basis of the program is to provide Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Syrian Refugees who are not entitled to go to school from the ages of 3-5. ECE is one of the most significant programs that can lead to positive lifelong outcomes. As such, it is important to ensure that Syrian Refugees have this service provided for them so when getting to school at the age of 6 they have the skills needed to access appropriate grade level curriculum.
This program takes places in the Library of Saida. It runs 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday), 2h a day. Activities are designed to give the children tools to be more developmentally appropriate, ready to integrate into school by the age of 7, build their social/emotional skills, fine/gross motor skills, and early literacy skills.

The Changemaker Festival has become one of the Middle East’s biggest events for youth and women. This year, it is held in the heart of Downtown Beirut at District//S, on October 5thwhere more than 5,000 millennials from Lebanon and abroad, influencers, CEO’s, executives and youth leaders will gather in one place to explore how entrepreneurship can change the world. In partnership with the Women Leaders Council (WLC), the theme for this year focuses on giving youth and women a platform to empower themselves, to raise their voice, connect, learn from others, be inspired, and build a network and support system. Almost 18% of Lebanese youth are unemployed, and 25% of them won’t find a job in Lebanon. The female employment rate constitutes only 25% in Lebanon, and only 4% of females in the workforce hold a top position in a business or firm. We want to create intrapreneurs, artist-preneurs, and entrepreneurs, to address the regional and global employment crisis. We want to support the local startup ecosystem, build a platform for business leaders, influencers and policymakers to engage youth and women, bringing them into the conversation as the leaders of today, not exclusively the leaders of tomorrow.

Dream of a Refugee association was officially registered in March 31st, 2011. The story of the association began in October 2010 when a group of five young Palestinian refugees in Lebanon understood how hard it was to live without having good education.
They decided to establish a center (Martyr Ali Abou Tok Centre) that provides children of the camp with the requirement to succeed in their schools.
Today, the center accommodates the educational needs of more than 408 children of the Chatila camp between grade 1 and 10. Dream of a Refugee association doesn’t only enjoy a teacher-student relationship with the camp students, but they have also developed it to a stronger human relationship, establishing a cultural group, a football team and psycho-social support for their students, so they can open a window of hope for the marginalized community in Lebanon.
In summary, the Dreams of a Refugee Association aims to help in the capacity building and the empowerment of the community by building a cultured and aware youth generation hoping for the best of the community and respecting the right of the older generation in having a life with dignity.

The Happy Childhood Foundation aims to make children of the world happier, one smile at a time. We want to help make a difference. We don’t naively believe we will eradicate human misery all by ourselves… but we do believe that one more person fighting for children will change another’s life, and one organization could help thousands more.
And so we set on to develop projects and programs that will make that difference: by focusing on children’s needs, and without any kind of discrimination. We also seek to bring awareness to children’s situation, in Lebanon and around the world, especially with other children.
We help children with any kind of disability receive the therapy care they deserve and need regardless of their situations and backgrounds.
In addition to that, we make sure to cover all their needs in term of basic needs, protection, health, education and recreation.

Impact Lebanon is a non-profit organisation that brings the community together to pursue initiatives that deliver impact for Lebanon. Our process is to encourage the brainstorming of ideas; promote the sharing of knowledge, resources and expertise; and build strong teams to turn an idea into a successful initiative.
Impact Lebanon was set up to make activism and volunteering accessible, relevant and sustainable for the Lebanese diaspora. We needed a risk-free and impact-focused environment that invites us to tap into our creative and entrepreneurial abilities to help our country and community. Most importantly, we needed a home for our ideas and a family that believes in supporting each other’s initiatives and committing to their success.
The steadily growing team is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds and unique stories for how we have contributed to Impact Lebanon. The common thread that brings us together is our passion for Lebanon and the Lebanese community, desire to be active citizens, shared set of values, entrepreneurial spirit, and belief in the value of honesty and collaboration. We hope that you will join us and contribute to keeping the momentum and building for the future of Lebanon.
Sign up to our website by clicking “Get involved”, check out our existing initiatives and click on “I want to volunteer”. Alternatively, go to the brainstorming section and suggest an idea of your own and we will get in touch to help you make it happen!

Khota Ashabab is a non – governmental organization that has been founded by a group of youth, and has a board that encompasses 7 members and a general committee that includes around 30 members whose ages range between 14 and 30.
Our core values are based on the belief of all our members that every individual has the potential to make a change. Once youth are made aware of their potential, one can naturally become an active member of their community and civil society. Therefore, we aim to empower youth for them to establish a team-spirit amongst themselves, as well as a culture of peace with their surroundings. As youth start to create a strong sense of ownership and self-responsibility within themselves, they would progressively begin to internalize values like integrity, fairness, and transparency, while serving their community and holding local stakeholders accountable for their actions. Khota Ashabab will therefore become a beehive for youth to grasp their best potential in a supporting environment and to capitalize on their talents for the betterment of civil society. We know that through our dedication and adaptability in trying to get the real world to be the closest version possible to the ideal world, an example of perseverance with optimism will be set. Hence, herein comes Khota Ashabab’s utmost value… reflecting the vivid and dynamic youth spirit.
Our Vision:
“An environment that inspires the youth to change.”
Our Mission:
“Khota Ashabab aims to promote peace by developing youth policies and capacities and engaging the corresponding stakeholders in this process.”

Out of the crises that have crippled Lebanon and in the absence of responsible political representatives, KLNA was established in June 2020.
As a response to one of the worst economic crises in Lebanon’s history that is fueled by a corrupt ruling class, a group of friends got together to form an initiative to give back to their community by helping those in need.
We started with one goal in mind: help as many people as possible! With all the generosity and support we received; we were able to touch the lives of so many people in need. But we are not done yet! We still have so much room to grow and help even more people!
From establishment till today we have managed to help over 2,500 families. While KLNA’s main focus is food relief and we do so by distributing food boxes, we have also managed to help some families with rent, medications and other necessities such as milk, diapers, and feminine hygiene products.
Over the past year and a half, we not only built a community, but instead, a second family for our members who are radiating hope during these hopeless times.
Almost every Saturday, KLNA organizes a distribution drive during which an average of 100 food boxes are given out. To make it a successful and recurring event, we need you on board.
We’re looking for youthful and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and we would love for you to be a part of our journey!
With KLNA, we’re looking to make a change, one that you can be a part of! And together, KLNA sawa, can work towards a better Lebanon.
Out of the crises that have crippled Lebanon and in the absence of responsible political representatives, KLNA was es...

Li’s vision stretches beyond permaculture designs and sustainable living. We aim at reestablishing the connection between the culture and habitats we currently live in and the ones we previously cherished before we moved into an excessive and demanding lifestyle. The more we observe that fact, the more we realize that nature does not tolerate excess. Our nature as beings reached a point where it has traded abundance for excess. Infinite growth is destructive, sustainability is balance. We receive by giving, first the luxury of a retreat to raw nature, to learning different concepts (in local communities, schools, researchers. summer campers, practitioners, nature lovers, and curious observers) from organic planting, to harvesting, to eco building, to social responsibility ; A space for workshops/talks, hands-on experience where people can shape ideas, knowledge & skills.Workshops raise curiosity, results create initiative in others, and more results create a trend and then a momentum. We are neither a venture nor a venue, we are somehow collaborators of change, and we are learning that along the way, all channels tend to have an impact directly or indirectly. The project started with a series of workshops hosted by local and international people, starting with vermin-compost toilets to a cob oven, wood working and finally the building of an earth bag dome hobbit houseThe idea was to teach others the process of building one’s own house with minimum cost from limited resources they can acquire from their own land. Smart and simple systems can be installed (passive solar, gray water, rocket mass heater ...) that would allow them to benefit more from nature's abundance as an alternative to investing money and thus time to pay unnecessary bills. Our vision aims at making a difference while interacting with nature, by substituting nature’s exploitation with nature’s appreciation. You are always welcome to stay at ‘Li’ if you are volunteering for roughly five hours a day, depending on what we are working on. (Planting/picking season, eco-building, eco-farming, up cycling furniture …)

LP4Y’s vision is that young adults facing extreme poverty (living with less than $1,5 per day) and victims of exclusion (out of school, living in the streets, former prisoners, differently able, young mothers…) are capable of becoming great entrepreneurs if someone gives them words of support , place to grow, smiles and trust.
Excluded Youth lack connections with the decent world and access to a network. LP4Y creates a professionalizing framework to promote the personal development of the Youth and their lasting integration into the world of decent work. All actors at all levels are essential to the success of each Youth.
Our partnership strategy consists in building bridges and solid links between the Youth and all other actors. The more connected the Youth are to local entities, businesses, schools, health organizations, NGOs, the better their chances of a lasting escape from exclusion.
After a year of training, the Youth are ready to find a job and to get out of poverty by themselves. They will become actors of change in their communities.
LP4Y's success rates (2009-2019):
2 493 accompanied Youths
19 444 positively impacted people
785 Youths being accompanied in 2019
94 volunteers
20 Life Project Centers in 13 countries
41 programs of up to 15 Youths
0 employees
In 2019, LP4Y opened three new countries in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Lebanon.
The LP4Y actions for the professional and social integration of excluded young people developed in Asia, Europe, the United States and soon in the Mediterranean zone form an international movement guided by collaborative work and mutual enrichment of its actors. Individual and collective empowerment gives everyone the opportunity to fulfil themselves and multi-sector partners the opportunity to work together for a more inclusive world.

Lifeline is a non-profit organization founded 5 years ago with the mission to work in collaboration with communities to alleviate human suffering across Lebanon, by providing aid and assistant to the less fortunate in terms of food, clothes, medical supplies, civil work... The organization paved the way to implement Beit Jdoudna & Beit Setti project, by visiting and providing supplies, health care and securing the needs of the homeless until the homes saw the light in December 2018 & April 2020 respectively. The homes opened their doors, after a lot of preparations and planning, starting with 1 resident and the family grew rapidly to reach 12 homeless elderly all above the age of 60 residing currently at Beit Jdoudna & Beit Setti while Beit Setti opened its door end of April 2020 hosting 5 residents till date. Both homes are being managed by Yara Bou Aoun a social worker activist who is making sure to provide the best quality of life to the less fortunate elderly who have no one to care for them. The homes rely on funds from loyal donors and volunteers, and have been actively creating awareness on all social media platforms calling for help from the whole Lebanese community shedding lights on the harsh living conditions of the homeless in Lebanon due to the deteriorating economic situation in the country.

Response during Covid19:
Covid19 aggravated the spread of poverty and needs in Lebanon. At Live2Share our numbers have doubled (200 to 400 families) since March 2020, and the challenges grew harder (double the prices of the food parcels, less opportunities for fundraising).

Min Beib La Beib (MBLB) was officially launched on December 19th, 2019 when the economic situation in Lebanon deteriorated and people were faced with an unexpected inflation. MBLB is run by a group of dedicated women who could not sit still and witness this developing crisis and saw the urge to act and help people on the ground.
The purpose of this nonprofit is first and foremost to deliver necessary items to underprivileged families, after visiting them and evaluating their needs. At its inception, MBLB was running on a small budget. It collected used furniture and other necessary items delivering them to needy families from door to door without any expense on both ends.
After the August 4th explosion, MBLB began accepting donations to purchase brand new furniture and appliances. This is because the demand for furniture and home appliances has grown dramatically and the supply of donors in kind within the country was no longer sufficient to meet these needs.
Whenever possible, MBLB employs underprivileged individuals. Low skilled workers are hired to drive the delivery truck and help unload the items. Painters are hired for refurbishing and carpenters are paid to fix and install the items in the homes. This enables them to generate income and become self-sufficient.
In 2021, MBLB will work closely with local craftsmen to develop an MBLB furniture line. Basic items such as closets, dining tables, chairs and sofas that can be easily customized depending on each family’s needs will carefully be designed at a relatively low cost. The idea is not to wait for in kind donations only but to have items ready and available at all times to fill the intensified demand for furniture and provide families with a decent home.

Our dog shelter was founded in 2018. We rescue homeless dogs, spay/neuter, vaccinate and shelter them until we find them forever homes. Some of our rescued dogs even found adopters abroad!
Because of the economic crisis, more people across Lebanon are abandoning their dogs. We have more than 200 now, rescued, and staying at our small shelter.
We are a very small team and we need help during weekends to walk these dogs and socialize them. Would you like to join us?

The Goal of Nation Station is to provide sustainable relief to the affected households of the Beirut blast through a combination of effective organisation, data collection, and donation distribution. The Nation Station seeks to evolve from an immediate relief center to a long- term, self-sustaining community hub and platform of collaboration with upcoming crisis intervention initiatives.
Outcomes:
● The station is used as a relief station providing constant meals a day to people from all over Beirut, but also serving volunteers helping with repair work around the area.
● The affected individuals and households are provided with initial, immediate assistance including food boxes /cleaning utilities, medication, and sealing of broken windows and doors (“jil al naylon” a separate initiative that joined forces with Nation Station providing plastic film to temporarily seal people’s destroyed windows).
● Data collected on the affected individuals and households through a primary assessment ensures that aid is provided to those most in need, and other NGOs are provided with a reliable fundament of information, enabling them to provide their assistance more efficiently and effectively.
● A community hub is created in the neighbourhood of Geitawi, promoting social interaction, a sense of community and solidarity, and aiding the local economy.
