Terms and Conditions of Service – The Volunteer Circle

Your access and use of www.thevolunteercircle.com are subject to the following terms and conditions and is an agreement between you (the user) and The Volunteer Circle; “TVC” , “us” , “we” , “our” refer to The Volunteer Circle.
The “user” refers to any person, parent, group, organization (public, private, non-governmental), independent party, institution, school, or any other individual accessing the website.
When you, the user (volunteer or organization), create a profile or submit an online application/listing for The Volunteer Circle service, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions listed below.

Terms of accepting listings

1. Volunteer activity should contribute positively to society, and not feed into a profitable initiative.

2. The impact of the voluntary activity should be measurable.

3. Associations and organizations should announce volunteer activities through the Volunteer Circle platform as per the requirements of the platform, including but not limited to:

• A detailed explanation of the activity.

• Description of the listing location of the activity in detail.

• Mention of the services provided to volunteers (transportation/meal), if any.

4. Associations and institutions should confirm the volunteer hours for each volunteer after the completion of the volunteer activity.

5. The association and institutions should be able to report on volunteer activity to The Volunteer Circle platform.

6. The volunteer activity should be safe and not put the safety of volunteers in jeopardy.

* Voluntary activity does not involve any political or religious activities.

Privacy Policy

You agree to the privacy policy set out in the Privacy Policy of The Volunteer Circle. You can read it at https://www.thevolunteercircle.com/privacy/.

Commuting/Travel

The Volunteer Circle does not book flights or make any travel arrangements to the location of your volunteering opportunity. It is the user’s own responsibility to arrange your own transportation. The Volunteer Circle can provide advice and information, but it is the user responsibility to arrange transportation.

Insurance

Insurance is compulsory for all users of The Volunteer Circle. All participants need to have full comprehensive medical insurance during the duration of their volunteering. It is your sole responsibility to purchase your own insurance and if you are volunteering without insurance, it is your own responsibility.

Liability

The Volunteer Circle is not responsible for the moral or social conduct of either the volunteers nor the organizations during the duration of the volunteering opportunity. We advise volunteers to conduct research on the organization before volunteering, and the organization to interview the volunteer before proceeding. In the case of conflict, The Volunteer Circle does not play any role in mitigating. In case of hiring/employment/internship arrangements, the Volunteer Circle does not play any role in mitigating. In case of theft, embezzlement, copywriting issues, or any other misconduct, the Volunteer Circle does not assume responsibility on behalf of the volunteer nor the organization.

Termination

If either the organization or the volunteer terminates a volunteering opportunity on the Volunteer Circle platform, the system will automatically send an email for termination. The Volunteer Circle is not further responsible for termination conditions or unfinished tasks.

Task Changes

In the case that the organization changes the tasks listed online, The Volunteer Circle is not responsible for whatever has not been communicated. The organization can change its own listing from within its profile.

Use of Photos and Feedback

By agreeing to the terms and conditions you agree that The Volunteer Circle can use your photos (as long as The Volunteer Circle is tagged on Social Media or the hashtag #thevolunteercircle is used) and written feedback during your time volunteering. The Volunteer Circle might use such material for marketing/promotion in form of posts/emails/or on its website.

Personal Risk

The volunteer acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their agreement to provide volunteer services in a developing country. Volunteer work can be often dangerous and involves a certain degree of risks, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the volunteer. Therefore, The Volunteer Circle and any/all of its stakeholders are not liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm the volunteer or organization may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused by: Personal injury, transportation, safety, hygiene, dangers associated with plants or animals, civil unrest, altitude, food, water, local activities (religious/cultural/social), illness, damage or loss of property, emotional trauma, etc.

Code of Conduct

The user, by accepting to volunteer, agrees to abide by the rules and regulations set out by organizations and by the local community. If the Volunteer Circle’s organizations find the user’s behaviour unsatisfactory due to drugs, alcohol, stress, abuse or a medical condition, the volunteering opportunity will be terminated.

Governing Law

The Volunteer Circle abides by and is governed by Lebanese Law. All copyright issues including others abide by Lebanese Law. All accessibility rules also abide fully by Lebanese Law.
