Description: The intern will learn about the basic operations of a gallery and have the opportunity to do the following: develop client facing and interpersonal skills, get to know local artists and work directly with them as assistants during projects, learn printing techniques, spray can techniques and other artistic processes in supporting artists as well as learn about the history and culture of Urban Street Art in Lebanon and worldwide. The duration of the internship is 3 months. Following review of the intern’s performance, there is potential for expansion. Interns will receive a letter of recommendation for any future employer. Should any job opportunity arise with Ahla Fawda or its network, then they will be under immediate consideration according to their aptitude and capabilities.
Experience: In supporting the Gallery & Gallery Office, the intern’s duties include: client enquiries, gallery administration, show cataloging, show preparation, assisting sales during shows, diary management, artist research, blogging (opportunity to learn Wordpress), event & opportunity mapping, search for funding programs via governmental and other international channels.
Hours Required: 2 Volunteers for 3 days a week each. Working together one day per week and then alone to cover rest of week. 4 hours per day.
