Description: This volunteer opportunity is starting from mid-August. Welcome to our vision of a Sustainable Lebanon. I'm leading a team building an Eco-village in the beautiful Lebanon mountains to allow visitors to live, learn, grow and build in a more sustainable way. From June 2021 we plan to construct 10 buildings (workshop, school, farmers market huts, cabins and kitchen) using local, natural or recycled materials & a small agricultural plot. Come join us to learn and build together! Volunteers are welcome Monday to Friday. Normally weekends will not be possible. 2 Volunteering options: STAY ON SITE: Come and stay in one of our wild west wagons. We provide bathroom & cooking facilities and basic vegan food. We ask for 5 days work per week, 6 hrs per day. Minimum of 1 week stay. If you live outside Beqaa (e.g. Beirut), this is the option for you. DAILY VISIT: Come and work with us for 3+ hrs any day Monday to Friday. A commitment of at least 2 days a week, every week is required to really get into the work. We want volunteers who have an interest in Natural Building, who want to learn and physically help build with us. Previous experience is a bonus (carpentry, general construction, earth or stone works, sculpture). The actual work will depend on the phase of construction, but there are basically 2 parts: CARPENTRY - Furniture and other small items made from recycled pallets or natural wood.
